For the sixth year in a row the South Dakota State Fair saw increases in attendance and revenue. Manager Jerome Hertel says even with a drought and sluggish economy more than 192,790 people attended the 5-day run in Huron.
Hertel says the number of campers was up 8-percent topping 1,700. And participation in the open class livestock and FFA programs remained outstanding , but 4-H programs saw a big jump over previous years.
He says their goal for next year is to top 200,000 for attendance.
