North Dakota Oil Booming

The Oil and Gas Study Interim Committee of the South Dakota legislature met again this week in Pierre. The committee is looking at the possible impacts and issues from the booming oil fields of western North Dakota. Senator Billie Sutton of Burke says they heard a report that indicates the state will not see the massive development going on further north

Sutton says lawmakers want to make sure those in the north west part of the state are protected

Sutton says several bills for the 2013 session will be considered at their next meeting

Committee Chairman, Representative Roger Solum of Watertown has requested that the committee study be extended into next year.
