While there is still the danger of a “fiscal cliff” at the start of the new year, there are talks going on in Congress dealing with tax cuts and sequestration. South Dakota Senator John Thune says there have been quiet discussions for several weeks.
The Bush tax cuts expire at the end of the year, and drastic cuts mandated by the failure of the “supercommittee” last year also take effect January first. Thune says there may be some possible break throughs at the end of the year.
Thune says he thinks there is an honest effort underway to find some solutions.
