Cross border trading between U.S. and Canadian wheat producers should improve today with the elimination of the Canadian Wheat Board. With that monopoly gone, wheat growers can sell their wheat in a free market system that should benefit both countries. U.S. Wheat Associates Director of Policy Shannon Schlecht says they’ve also come up with a web site to help growers on both sides of the border more easily market their product.
Schlecht says the web site is set up to help each country’s growers have their questions answered and be able to more easily adapt to each country’s economy.
Schelcht says the web site is Canada-usgrainandseedtrade.info
U.S. Wheat Associates, the Grain Growers of Canada, Canada Grains Council and the North American Export Grain Association all worked on the project.
