Yankton Chamber Joins Back The Farm Bill Coalition

The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the 17 groups initially making up the BACK the Farm Bill Coalition. The group Wednesday held a news conference in Sioux Falls to announce their push for asking lawmakers to pass a comprehensive five year farm bill.  Yankton Chamber Director of Member Services Carmen Schramm says the farm bill is critical because agriculture effects all of Yankton’s and the area’s economy.

Schramm says Yankton is the only Chamber group in the coalition but she expects others to join in soon. She says the Coalition is not backing partisan legislation but wants Congress to take action to pass the needed farm bill.

She says agriculture impacts everything in Yankton and the area from the retail to the manufacturing sectors.
