Willingham Keys Twins Win

Josh Willingham hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning to put the Twins ahead, and they held on for a 4-3 win over the Athletics at Target Field.  It was Willingham’s second homer of the game.  Oswaldo Arcia also went deep for Minnesota, which has won two straight.  Anthony Swarzak picked up the win and Glen Perkins notched his 34th save.

–  The Twins continue their three-game series with the Athletics tonight at Target Field.  Mike Pelfrey takes the mound for Minnesota.  He is 5-and-11 with a 4.97 ERA in 26 starts this season.  The A’s will counter with rookie right-hander Sonny Gray, who is 2-and-3 with a 2.51 ERA.
