Water Rates Rising in Yankton

Water rates in Yankton will be going up to help finance the construction of new collector wells and a water treatment plant over the next five years.

There has been some confusion over how much more users will pay, so City Finance Director Al Viereck has come up with a presentation he will give to the city commission at their meeting tonight. He broke down the water users into three groups………

Viereck says everyone will see an increase as he walked through projected utility bills……

The rate increases will apply to bills that are sent out this month.

The city commission meets tonight, 7pm at the RTEC building.
