The University of South Dakota has formed a 16-member committee that will assist the University in its pursuit to replace Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Chuck Staben, who was named the 18th president of the University of Idaho last month.

Dr. Mary Nettleman, vice president of health affairs and dean of the Sanford School of Medicine, will serve as committee chairperson.

USD President Jim Abbott says it is a critical position…

Abbott says he would like to see candidates with broad educational experiences…

Abbott says he hopes they can name a new Provost by next summer.
