USD Kicker Gets Nod

South Dakota freshman Miles Bergner (Longmount, Colo./Longmount HS) has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Team’s Player of the Week. It is the second weekly award for Bergner his season.

 

Bergner made a career-long and game-winning 41-yard field to give South Dakota its first-ever MVFC victory. Bergner also had three touchbacks on four kickoffs and averaged 43 yards on six punts. His six punts netted 39.5 yards. He had two 50-yard punts and pinned one kick inside the 20.

 

Bergner ranks 17th nationally in punting (43.3 ypp) heading into Saturday’s 1 p.m. home contest with Indiana State at the DakotaDome.
