Twins Salvage Victory

Josh Willingham and Oswaldo Arcia drove in two runs apiece as the Twins topped the Indians 5-3 to avoid a three-game sweep at Progressive Field.  Joe Mauer had two hits, a walk and scored three runs for Minnesota, which has won four of its last six.  Pedro Hernandez gave up two runs over five innings to pick up the win and improve to 3-and-1.  Glen Perkins closed it out for his 19th save.

The Twins placed pitcher Mike Pelfrey on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday with a back strain.  The move is retroactive to June 19th.  Pelfrey is 3-and-6 with a 6.11 ERA in 14 starts this season.  The Twins recalled pitcher Pedro Hernandez from Triple-A Rochester to fill the roster spot.
