Twins Fall Twice

It was anything but a Sunday stroll in the park for the Twins.  Ian Desmond lifted an RBI double in the seventh that sent the Nationals to a 5-4 win over the Twins in Washington, DC.  The victory sealed a doubleheader sweep after the Nats took the first of the twinbill, 7-0.  Chris Herrmann was 3-for-4 with two RBI while Pedro Florimon poked a two-run homer for Minnesota. The Twins have dropped four-of-five.

The Twins return to Minnesota to open a nine-game homestand tomorrow night against the Phillies.  Minnesota will also host the Tigers and White Sox on the homestand.  P.J. Walters take the mound in tomorrow’s opener.  Walters is 2-and-1.  The Phils will counter with left-hander Cole Hamels, who is 2-and-9.
