Twins Fall In Extra Innings

Michael Brantley’s sac-fly in the top of the 12th inning held up as the Indians outlasted the Twins 9-8 at Target Field.  Carlos Santana homered in the 10th to give the Tribe an 8-7 lead, but Joe Mauer answered with a solo shot in the bottom half to tie the game again for Minnesota.  Ryan Pressly took the loss for the Twins.  Mauer finished 5-of-7 with four RBI for Minnesota in defeat.

The Twins open up a four-game series with the Chicago White Sox tonight at Target Field.  Mike Pelfrey gets the ball for Minnesota.  He is 4-and-10 with a 5.32 ERA in 21 starts this season.  The Sox will counter with Andre Rienzo, who has a 4.42 ERA in three career starts.
