State Money Mishandled

A state audit disclosed the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services mishandled hundreds of thousands of dollars…and alleges a legal guardian stole thousands from more than 600 Nebraskans.
State Senator Colby Coash of Lincoln has served on a panel studying the guardianship issue.

Coash says Nebraska is the only state that has no structure to oversee legal guardians.
Coash doesn’t trust HHS to provide the oversight. . .

Coash says it’s something the legislature must consider in the upcoming session.
