Springfield Boat Basin Re-emerges

A project is underway to dredge out the old Springfield boat basin, to restore it as a marina and camping area.

Tom Lowe of Tyndall says the Bon Homme Bass League has been raising money to clean out the basin……………

The boat basin is just east of Springfield, and opens onto the west end of Lewis & Clark Lake.

Lowe says there are some substantial costs involved……

Lowe says they want the public to again be able to use that portion of the lake…………

Lowe says the Corps of Engineers is allowed them to pump the mud from the basin onto a nearby island in the lake. He says they hope to have most of the work done this fall and have the basin open again in the spring.
