South Dakota Winter Wheat Disappointing This Year

South Dakota farmers had one of their worst winter wheat crops in history this year.  State Wheat Commission Executive Director Randy Englund says harvest totals went from 1.2 million acres last year to 600,000 this year.

Englund says bushels per acre, test weights and proteins were all low this year.

He says protein levels were between 13 and 14 percent.
