SD Schools Would Welcome More Help From the Legislature

A legislative committee has endorsed a plan that would boost state support for K – 12 schools back to just over forty eight hundred dollars per student in the next budget year. The committee also talked about enhancements to teacher pay or tuition reimbursements.

Dr. Mark Froke, Superintendent of the Vermillion School District says any help with finding teachers would be appreciated……

Froke says it’s difficult to find enough candidates for their open teaching positions……….

Froke says even targeted state aid would be welcome……

Schools across the state are still recovering from a ten percent cut in state aid three years ago.
