School Board Holds Budget Hearing

The Yankton School Board held a public hearing on the proposed budget for the next school year at their meeting last night. The proposal, at just over fourteen point four million dollars, is an increase of just over four percent from the current year. Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kindle detailed some of the new expenses…

Kindle said they will also be shifting some expenses…

Business Manager Jason Bietz told the board that health insurance costs and payments could cause more budget shifting…

The board plans to officially approve the budget at their September meeting.
