Rail Line Purchase Questioned

South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard has filed a petition with the Surface Transportation  Board raising questions about the purchase of the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad by the Canadian Pacific. The petition is asking the STB to determine if the CP lived up to promises made when they bought the DM&E.

Yeaton, who also manages an elevator on the CP line in Highmore, says service has declined since CP took over…

Yeaton says he supports the Governors move in asking the STB to look at the sale…

The CP has said it is listening to possible sale offers of the line from Tracy Minnesota west, but a spokesman said no decision has been made on any possible actions.
