Petition Drive To Increase Minimum Wage

The details are still being worked out on a potential ballot initiative that would let voters in South Dakota decide on raising the minimum wage. Democratic Party interim executive director Zach Crago says they are waiting for word from Attorney General Marty Jackley…

Crago says they still think they will have plenty of time to get the signatures they need…

Crago says they plan to set up a coordinated campaign with at least one paid staffer working with the volunteers…

The initiative would push the minimum wage from the current seven twenty five an hour to eight fifty, then index it to inflation so it would continue to rise.
