Newcastle and Hartington Public Working Toward Merger

It is now looking more likely that the Newcastle school district could merge with Hartington Public, as soon as next year. Boards from the two districts have met to talk about the process.

Newcastle Superintendent Joey Lefdal says they are working though the details of a possible agreement……

Lefdal says he thinks community members are more open to the idea of a merger…………

Lefdal says they have to stay focused on what is best for their students education………

He says if both school board approve the plan, the merger could be in place by the fall of next year.
