New South Dakota Wind Association Executive Director Named

The South Dakota Wind Energy Association has a new Executive Director. Paul Bachman who works for D-G-R Engineering in Sioux Falls has taken over from former director Ron Rebenitsch.  Bachman says he’ll be focusing initially on smaller wind projects until uncertainty over the Production Tax Credit at the federal level is decided. He says South Dakota is in an excellent position to benefit from wind projects.

Bachman says there are two recent drivers of wind energy projects. He says one of those is small gas plants working in conjunction with wind projects.

Bachman says the other driver is the ability to store wind power and use it at higher value times when demand for electricity is greater.
