Twenty-nine state park areas in Nebraska will soon temporarily close. Still, a few, limited activities will be available. Savings from the temporary closing of the 29 state park areas should total around 300-Thousand dollars…all to be diverted to a 30-Million dollar backlog of maintenance that has been put off. . .
Nebraska Parks Division Administrator Roger Kuhn says the division wants to be more aggressive in tackling deferred maintenance. . .
Though services will be cut off temporarily at the 29 parks, day use will be permitted…such as picnicking, hiking, even bank fishing.
