Nebraska Farmers Union Members To Decide Policy And Hold Elections

Nebraska Farmers Union members are holding their 100th annual convention Friday and Saturday in Grand Island.  President John Hansen says policy recommendations will be decided upon Thursday and given to the general membership for their consideration Friday and Saturday. He says two primary ones will be opposing the recent EPA plan to lower RFS volume requirements and call for passage of a full five year farm bill.

Hansen says a panel discussion will be held called navigating the new health care system.

Hansen says Governor Dave Heineman will keynote Friday’s luncheon while Omaha Attorney Dave Domina will keynote the Saturday luncheon. He says members will choose three district directors and a President. Hansen who’s served for the past 24 years says he’s running for re election.
