Nebraska Farmers Union Disappointed With CFTC Nominee

 

Nebraska Farmers Union leaders are disappointed the President has nominated Sharon Bowen to succeed Bart Chilton as Commodity Futures Trading Commissioner. President John Hansen says they’re disappointed Bowen has no agricultural background and if confirmed would replace someone with a wealth of agricultural experience.

Hansen says up to this point agriculture has been well represented on that very important commission.

Hansen says his group is sorry see Chilton leave as Commodity Future’s Trading Commissioner, that he has done a great job and will be missed. Nominee Bowen, a New York Lawyer facing confirmation by the U.S.Senate.
