Nebraska Farm Bureau Lists 5 Top Ag Stories For 2013

Nebraska Farm Bureau Lists 5 Top Ag Stories For 2013

Nebraska Farm Bureau officials have released their top five agricultural stories for 2013.  President Steve Nelson says tax reform tops the list.

Nelson says number four is recovery from the drought and how it relates to state water management issues while number five is the communication gap between farmers and non farmers. He says from these five issues one of their priorities for 2014 is working for effective tax reform at the state level.

Nelson says while income taxes need to be part of the continuing tax reform discussions, because most state residents pay a very high percentage of property taxes, that must be addressed.
