Nebraska Ethanol Official Says Policy Commission Idea Has Merit

Nebraska Ethanol Official Says Policy Commission Idea Has Merit

Two members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee have introduced legislation to create a commission to review current national energy policy. Under the bill, the commission would also propose a comprehensive energy plan for the future.  Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says the idea has merit although the chances for its passage now aren’t favorable.

Sneller says how ethanol and advanced biofuels would fare under such a system would depend on how fair and open the commission is.

One of the bill’s sponsors, West Virginia Congressman David McKinley says America should have a blueprint when it comes to our energy policy.
