Half a dozen Nebraska commodity groups are having their members send in comments opposing EPA’s RFS proposal that calls for dropping renewable volume requirements. Nebraska Corn Board’s Director of Research Kelly Brunkhorst says the corn, wheat, soybean and sorghum groups have formed a coalition asking for resolution on the matter.
Brunkhorst says if EPA’s plan to drop the RFS volumes stand up, there will be severe economic consequences.
He says in addition EPA’s proposal will stymie rural economic development nationwide.
Brunkhorst says EPA is taking comments on their proposal until January 28. He says those wishing to comment may contact their office or go to their website.
