NE Cattlemen Push Beef License Plate

Nebraska cattlemen want the state department of motor vehicles to approve a specialty license plate that says “Nebraska the Beef State.”   Association spokesman Pete McClymont says a non-profit group must apply for the plate, so the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Foundation is submitting the request.  However, they have enough members to meet the regulation for the application.

He says the “Nebraska the Beef State” was used on the license plate from 1956 to 1965.  He says if they can resurrect the idea it will help promote the state’s beef industry.

The Association held a contest among its members to chose the design from three finalists.
