National Grain And Feed Group Analyzing Proposed Rules

The Food and Drug Administration is publishing their new set of rules under the Food Safety Modernization Act that will effect animal feed and pet food. National Grain and Feed Association is studying the proposal and will submit comments. Grain and Feed Association President Randy Gordon says this proposal is a change from the past.

He says these good manufactured practices are a key to the new rule.

Gordon says his group wants to make sure human feed rules FDA has developed matches up well with animal feed.

He says FDA needs to make sure their regulations provide the flexibility necessary for companies to continue to effectively and safely address feed safety.
