Minnesota Livestock Groups Oppose RFS Waiver


Livestock groups aren’t jumping on Big Oil’s bandwagon calling for a waiver of the Renewable Fuels Standard.   Minnesota Pork Executive Director Dave Preisler says they just wanted a safety valve on the RFS in years of a short crop like 2012.

Minnesota Cattlemen’s Past President Donnie Schiefelbein says with a near record corn crop and corn under $5 they aren’t pushing for whole stock reform…. and as a state organization they never were.

He says Minnesota’s policy has run counter to NCBA which has lobbied for RFS reform in Congress and last year’s waiver request.
