Meeting Held on Highway 50 Project

The three members of Yankton County’s legislative delegation met with engineers from the state Department of Transportation to talk about the upcoming rebuild of Highway 50 through the city. Representative Mike Stevens says more public input is needed in the re-design…

The D.O.T. wants to add a fifth turning lane to the current four lane road. Stevens, whose law office is on the highway, says it’s a tight fit now…

Stevens says they are concerned with the safety of vehicles and pedestrians in that corridor…

The project is set to begin in the spring of 2015.
