Medicaid Will Be Studied

It failed to overcome a filibuster this legislative session, but the sponsor of a bill to expand Medicaid in Nebraska presses on.¬†Senator Kathy Campbell of Lincoln says she simply couldn’t find the votes to break the filibuster. . .

A study will be conducted over the interim of whether expanding Medicaid makes sense for Nebraska.¬†Campbell says an interim study of Medicaid expansion will be conducted…and she will take advantage of the interim between legislative sessions to speak with Governor Dave Heineman, who has strongly opposed expansion. . .

Campbell says Medicaid expansion remains the best way to extend health care insurance to 54-Thousand Nebraskans who don’t have health insurance now.
