Lowest Cost of Living In The U.S.

A report from the US Commerce Department says South Dakota has the lowest cost of living in the United States. According to the report, state residents in 2011 paid eighty seven percent of the national average for housing and services. Dave Owen, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says it doesn’t mean the state is the cheapest place to live…

Owen says reports like these can help draw out of state companies into South Dakota……

Owen says the state has been fortunate to have several good years in agriculture……

The report also says the state had one of the largest increases in personal income, up ten point four percent from 2010 to 2011.
