Former South Dakota Secretary of State Dies

Former South Dakota Secretary of State Alice Kundert  died yesterday in Mobridge. Kundert, who was 92, served as State Auditor from 1969 to 1979, and as Secretary of State from 1979 to 1987. She was a republican candidate for Governor in 1986. She also served in the State House of Representatives from 1991 to 1994. Jim Putnam of Armour was a majority whip in the House, and served with Kundert.
