Increasing Visitors To State Parks

With the July 4th holiday approaching, and the weather warming up, South Dakota state parks are seeing increasing numbers of visitors. Jeff Van Meeteren, regional supervisor for the Game, Fish and Parks at Lewis & Clark State Recreation area near Yankton says they had a pretty slow start this year……

Van Meeteren says they are now seeing a big increase in visitors………

He says last year they had over thirty seven thousand camper nights, which was up four percent over 2011.

Van Meeteren says the area around Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River is a unique visitor destination……
