Improvements To Meridian Bridge

The Yankton City Commission this week agreed to spend about nine thousand dollars to update a master plan for improvements in and around the Meridian Bridge over the Missouri River. That double deck bridge was converted to a walking-biking bridge, and the north side approach removed and turned into a green space.

City Parks Director Todd Larson said they want to update the plan that was designed by their consultant……

Commissioner David Knoff, who was on the study committee, said they have a good base to start with……

Commissioner Pauline Akland was concerned with the costs, and how much sales tax income would be needed to pay it back……

Commissioners voted seven to one to continue with the master plan.
