Highway 50 Talks Continue

Discussions are continuing between the South Dakota Department of Transportation and the City of Yankton over the design of the Highway 50 project. That four lane highway is set to be rebuilt through the city in 2015.

Mayor Nancy Wenande says they want the east segment of the highway to have five, twelve foot wide lanes…

The eastern part of the project, from Marne Creek east, will have the five, twelve foot lanes. Further west, though the city, the lanes will be narrower. Wenande says there isn’t enough room to widen the highway…

The city commission will discuss the project at their meeting tonight, 7pm at the RTEC building.
