High Lottery Sales in Nebraska

A milestone for the Nebraska Lottery. Spokesman Neil Watson says ticket sales during the fiscal year that ended on June 30th were the highest in its 20 year history.

He says lottery sales also benefit the a number of their beneficiaries that include education programs, environmental programs to the Nebraska State Fair and the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Program. He says it also helps the state as Nebraska receives income tax for prizes over $5,000.

Watson says the most popular game is Powerball but the scratch-off game sales are also improving.
