Hawkeye, Cyclone Honored

Hawkeye, Cyclone Honored

A Hawkeye and a Cyclone are among the weekly best in their respective leagues. Iowa linebacker James Morris is being honored as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.  The senior had an interception, sack and eight tackles in the Hawkeyes’ 23-7 win at Minnesota on Saturday.  Morris is the second straight Iowa defender to win the award after defensive back B.J. Lowery was honored the previous week.
Iowa State running back Aaron Wimberly has been named Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week.  Wimberly ran for a career-high 137 yards and finished with 200 all-purpose yards in the Cyclones’ 38-21 win over Tulsa on Saturday.  The junior shares the honor with West Virginia running back Charles Sims.
