Grants For Planting Trees

Towns and cities across Nebraska are eligible to apply for a grant program dedicated to trees. Kendall Weyers is the Sustainable Communities Coordinator with the Nebraska Forest Service and says $250,000 is available this year.

Weyers says cities needing to replace those lost by the drought can apply for matching grants dedicated to planting trees. He says we may not know the full impact to the trees for quite some time.

The application deadline is October 1st.
