Former Creighton Coach Dies

Former Creighton basketball coach John “Red” McManus is dead at the age of 88.  He passed away Tuesday after a lengthy illness.  McManus was coach of the Bluejays from 1959 to 1969.  Credited with bringing the program back into prominence with tough scheduling, he was elected to the school’s athletic Hall of Fame in 1979.
