Flat Year For Yankton Economy

A new year brings new hope and expectations for the economy and business growth. Carmen Schramm, Executive Director of the Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce, says 2013 was pretty flat for business and growth…

Schramm says they also saw a number of businesses close their doors this year…

She says a few of those business closings were due to retirements and no succession plan.

Schramm says many businesses are still dealing with government uncertainty…

She says they are also optimistic about more job development in the area in 2014.
