Yankton City Commissioners got details on a potential water deal at their meeting last night…

Terry Wooten with the B-Y Water District said they have that water available right now on the west city limits. The City of Yankton is looking at potential replacement water sources and a major upgrade to the treatment plant. City Finance Director Al Viereck said the B-Y water would cost about one point six million dollars a year, which would be in addition to costs associated with the treatment plant upgrades…

City Manager Amy Nelson said there is value in the city controlling its own facilities…

Commissioners took no action on the offer from the B-Y Water District.
