The Royals have one of the top international prospects in the fold.  The team has signed 16-year-old Italian shortstop Marten Gasparini to a 1.3-million-dollar contract.  He’s ranked the fourth-best international prospect by MLB.com.  His signing bonus is the highest ever for a European, topping the previous mark of 750-thousand.  Gasparini is a switch-hitter.
