Brett Teaching Royals Hitters

George Brett is now the Royals interim hitting coach.  The Hall of Fame third baseman is filling the role after Jack Maloof and assistant hitting coach Andre David were both reassigned to the minor leagues on Thursday.  Before last night, the Royals were just 4-and-19 in their previous 23 games and had scored just 16 runs during an eight-game skid.

Former Royals hitting coach Kevin Seitzer is hoping he might get the opportunity to return to that role.  He told the “Star” that it’s been frustrating watching the young hitters he worked with the last four years struggle so much.  Seitzer says he was hoping to get the call to return and still wants to once interim hitting coach George Brett has had enough.
