Area Coach In Spotlight

Larry Buffington of Gayville-Volin High School is in the running for a national honor.

Brooks Running Company has recognized Buffington as one of 26 finalists for its 2013 high school track and cross country coach Inspiring Coaches Award.

The overall winner will receive $5,000 in Brooks gear, an additional $2,000 in cash and a trip for two to the 2014 Brooks PR Invitational. The finalists each receive $5,000 in Brooks performance running footwear and apparel for their team.

Runners, students, families and community members can vote for their favorite finalist on the Brooks website until July 21.
