Activist Group Protesting Hog Housing In South Dakota And Iowa

Activist group, Mercy for Animals is holding a protest outside Walmart Stores this week in South Dakota and Iowa. Today, the group is in Sioux Falls calling attention to their opposition to gestation crates.  Mercy for Animals National Campaign coordinator Jeni Haines says they believe gestation housing practices are cruel.

Haines points to phase out of gestation housing in other states and overseas.

Haines says Mercy for Animals members will protest in front of Sioux City’s Walmart on Wednesday and in Ottuma, Iowa on Thursday.
