Aberdeen Development Corporation Not Involved In EB 5 With Northern Beef

Federal authorities are investigating the financial dealings of the bankrupt Northern Beef Packing plant and the federal EB 5 immigrant investment program that supplied much of its funding. Aberdeen Development Corporation Executive Vice President Jim Barringer says his group which worked to get the beef plant in Aberdeen was not involved in the Eb 5 program.

Barringer says to his understanding, the beef plant did have foreign investors that investigators are likely looking at.

He says his group is hopeful that the bankrupt plant’s facility will eventually be sold to a new company and there has been interest shown by a group outside the state.
