Children in South Dakota have a right to be supported emotionally and financially.

State Division of Child Support staff help establish paternity, locate noncustodial parents, establish, modify and enforce child support orders and collect and process child support payments.

These services are free to families already receiving public assistance and are available to other families for a $5 fee.

For more information, contact the South Dakota Department of Social Services’ Division of Child Support at 1-800-286-9145.
