Belgian Waffle Feed

Hartington Ambulance invites you to theri Belgian Waffle Feed on March 15th at the Hartington Fire and Ambulance Hall. The Waffle Feed will run from 8:30am-12:30pm. It is all you can eat waffles, sausage, flavored syrup and drinks by Dad’s belgian Waffles. Take out available. Adults are $7.00 and kids K06th grade are $5.00. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Soldiers’ Chorus

The U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus will present a concert on Sunday, March 15th, at 3 p-m in Northwestern College’s Christ Chapel.
The concert will feature patriotic, classical, Americana and opera musical selections. Staff sergeant Heidi Ackerman, a 2008 graduate of Northwestern College, will perform as a featured vocal soloist during the concert.
The concert is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. Tickets can be obtained in the Northwestern music department office in DeWitt Music Hall Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a-m and 3:30 p-m or by visiting www.armyfieldband.com/tickets.

Dakota Smile Mobile

Almost every day, the Dakota Smile Mobile’s dental staff sees a child who is in pain because of untreated dental disease. These are children who, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to access adequate dental care.
Thanks to United Way & Volunteer Services’ partnership with Delta Dental of SD, the Dakota Smile Mobile is returning to Yankton, March 16 – 20th!
Children up to age 21 can receive FREE dental care through the Smile Mobile.
Preregistration is required to participate.

Lack of access to oral health care is a major problem for many South Dakota children, including here in Yankton. The Delta Dental Smile Mobile program provides comprehensive oral health care to children ages 0-21. If your child has not seen a dentist in two years, the recommended dental care is too costly or you do not have a dentist, the Smile Mobile dental office will be offering free dental care.

The Smile Mobile is set to return to Yankton March 16th – 20th. Preregistration is required to participate. Registration forms can be printed online at www.yanktonunitedway.org or obtained at the Contact Center, County Health Nurse, Clothing Closet, Head Start, and United Way & Volunteer Services. Please return completed registration forms to United Way & Volunteer Services’ at 610 W 23rd Street, Suite 11, Yankton, by March 4th for scheduling purposes.

Moody Chorale Concert

The Moody Chorale will perform at Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. Founded in 1946 at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, the Chorale has long been established as one of America’s leading collegiate choral organizations specializing in sacred music. Their repertoire includes a broad range of songs chosen from various cultures, styles and time periods. There is no charge for the concert (a freewill offering will be taken) and the public is encouraged to attend.

Noon Forums

The Noon Forums at Mount Marty have recently been set. Each Thursday on the Yankton campus presenters give a talk on a variety of topics. The events are held over the lunch hour in the South Dining Room of Roncalli and are free and open to the public. Brown bag lunches are welcomed and visitors are also welcome to purchase food in the cafeteria.

Unplug, Unwind, Craft

The Yankton Community Library, 515 Walnut Street, is introducing a new program in 2015, “Unplug, Unwind, Craft.” This program takes place the third Thursday of each month, at 6 p.m. and is designed for adults and teens accompanied by an adult.

On Thursday, January 15, crafters have the opportunity to make spring wreaths, sugar scrubs, and an origami bookmark. There is a minimal charge to cover the cost of the materials which you must pay at the time of registration. The class is limited to twenty participants.
